Introducing me- Mario
My name is Mario, I’m a 27-year-old from Spain with a strong cultural passion—especially for history and art—and I’m also a sports enthusiast, particularly football. I love traveling and spending time with the people I care about.
I consider myself a cheerful and curious person, although a bit shy until I feel comfortable with the people around me.
I was born and raised in Las Mesas, a small town in Castilla-La Mancha, and later had the opportunity to study and live in some cities in Spain like Madrid and Salamanca. After finishing my university degree earlier this year, I worked in the tourism sector in Salamanca.
Even though everything was going well, I started to feel that I was becoming too comfortable and not growing as much as I wanted. When summer came to an end, I knew it was the right moment for a change—an international experience that would allow me to develop both personally and professionally. That’s why I decided to move to Würzburg, Germany, where my partner currently lives.
However, certain challenges—especially the language barrier—made it difficult to build long-term stability there. This pushed me to broaden my perspective and explore new options, even though I still hope to return in the near future.
During this period, I began to consider volunteering abroad. While searching for opportunities, I found this project in Zabok, and it immediately stood out because it offered everything I was looking for: the chance to improve my language and communication skills, discover a new country and environment, and meet new people.
It wasn’t an easy decision, as it meant making a significant change in my life. But at the same time, I saw it as a challenge and an opportunity to push myself. So here I am in Zabok, doing my best to contribute to this great project at Mreža udruga Zagor and to learn as much as possible from everyone involved.
I hope this experience will be fulfilling for all of us and that together we can create something meaningful.
